Fascinating stuff
8 December 2007, 16:21While I’m pretty much in love with every dress from the November Burda WOF cocktail collection, I found myself flipping back to the yellow dress, #105 more than the rest. It’s only 4 pattern pieces, but that 90 degree dart at the waist is just too cool, and I’m very much into sheath dresses this year. I still had some gold duchess satin leftover from the pirate jacket lining, so I lined up the pieces and was able to fit the dress out of the fabric with hardly any scraps to spare (I just love it when that happens!).
I’m still waiting on the invisible zipper I ordered online to be delivered, but as I was waiting I thought I’d try my hand at making a fascinator to match the dress!
I used netting leftover from Gez’s princess dress and a black sequinned flower I bought in a big bag from a Jonny Loves Rosie sample sale years ago, and I just played around. I took a bunch of photos as I was making it, though, so head over to BurdaStyle for my “How To Make a Fascinator” tutorial.

As soon as my zipper arrives I’ll finish the yellow dress, and then I’ve got a bunch of Christmas stuff to make before I can finally get back to work on the FW/07 Collection!

I am sorry about the comment problem in Blogger. They just changed this feature, and unfortunately there’s nothing I can do about it… I liked the previous system much better! I suggest you write your name in the “nickname” section and add your blog address in the comment section? Of just put your address in the nickname section. Anyway, I know your blog now (yay!) so I’ll know who you are. :)
